GFRW Secretary's AddressSara Snyder1377 Saffold Ct. Lilburn 30047We had a good Board meeting on Jan. 19th & 20th in Gwinnett County. The Greater Gwinnett RWC were great host and the Marriott was a super hotel.The weekend kicked off the elected officers of GFRW holding their Executive Cmte. meeting Friday morning. In the afternoon there were three workshops. First one was conducted by Toria Morgan on "How to Sell an Elephant" followed by a "Women's Health" workshop on alternative medicine presented by Dr. Susan Russell, next a "Membership Development" workshop conducted by Billie Love.At 5:30 there was a $100 Reagan Club Member's reception followed by the big reception at 7:00PM hosted by GGRWC and many sponsors that had been secured by the Greater Gwinnett RWC. Special guests included Lt. Governor Casey Cagle and 7th District Congressman John Linder and many local state senators, representatives and county commissioners. Wow what an impressive group. Members were joined by the husbands at the reception too.Saturday's meeting convened at 8:30AM with a welcome by Commissioner Mike Beaudreau, Gwinnett County Commissioner the husband of Tegwen Beaudreau, President of Greater Gwinnett RWC. He invited us to enjoy the shopping and the sights. We had excellent committee reports. Campaign Activities has planned a "Red Coat" Day at the Capitol on Wednesday, February 15th they also reported that GFRW will host the NFRW Campaign Management School on Friday, June 8th and Saturday, June 9th. Location T/B/D. We elected the 2007 Nominating Committee consisting of Bessie Burton, Gussie Gammon, Emma Hinesley, Loretta Johnson and Donna Rowe and the alternates are Marjean Birt and Louise Little. The Nominating Committee met and Emma Hinesley is chairman. This committee is charged to put together a 2008/2009 slate.We had two triple A speakers. Speaking at the meeting was our first Republican Secretary of State Karen Handel. She gave insights in to the SOS office. We had a moment of silence at 11:00 AM in honor of Sara Snynder's husband's funeral service. Our lunch speaker was Randy Evans, General counsel for the State Republican Party and many others. A great insights in to the 2008 presidential candidates and a wonderful.We sold 50th Anniversary pins at the meeting and I have to say they are going fast.Next GFRW meeting will be April 27 & 28th at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia @ Perimeter. Hotel rooms $89+++. There will be a workshop on Achievement Awards especially for presidents and club Achievement Awards chairmen. A workshop on Leadership by Judy True. Joining us at this meeting will be the NFRW Secretary Joyce Phillips. Her topic will be on "Membership Diversity". In the afternoon Lori Pesta, 6th District Director and Cherokee Cty RWC along with the 6th District clubs will host a Mother/Daughter Tea. Special guest speaker at the Tea is Julianne Chambliss, wife of U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss.
The GFRW Biennial Convention and 50th Anniversary Celebration will be Oct. 19 & 20,. 2007 the Crowne Plaza Ravinia Hotel @ Perimeter.

IMPORTANT NOTEAt the April BOD the Nominating Committee will hold interviews at a place and time to be determined and announced at a later date. The April GFRW BOD meeting will be held on April 27th & 28th.
