Board Meeting Highlights (from NFRW):
The NFRW Board of Directors met in Washington, D.C., in mid-March for the spring board
meeting. More than 220 NFRW leaders attended the meeting, which featured several prominent Republican officials and leaders.
William Kristol, editor of the Weekly Standard, and Jo Ann Davidson, co-chairman of the Republican National Committee, addressed the importance of the upcoming elections, while U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) and White House political director Sara Taylor briefed attendees on the latest from the nation’s capital.
Author and political commentator Linda Chavez discussed the effect of immigration policy on the Hispanic vote, and Army Spc. Rob Lauer updated attendees on the American Victory Project. Other speakers included former White House assistant press secretary Adam Levine, author and political consultant Craig Shirley, and Rich McKeown of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Also during the event, the board addressed routine business and passed seven resolutions recognizing President George W. Bush, the women of Iraq, former NFRW leader Dodie Londen, National Women’s History Month and several key women leaders of yesterday and today, our troops serving overseas, and the need for stronger laws to protect children from sexual predators.
